Stirrup Cups

Vintage stirrup cups come in a variety of figural animals, from Stag Stirrup cups to Deer Stirrup cups to Fox Stirrup cups (andy many more) and were made in Brass, Pewter, Silver-plated, and Sterling Silver. Dating back to the 18th and 19th century, Stirrup cups were given to guests when they were leaving and had their feet in the leather stirrups (of the horse). It was also traditional to serve wine/port/sherry at the meet, prior to the fox hunt, so the stirrup cup was taken by a rider who was about to depart.
